June 2021
I am delighted to have been appointed as one of the resident musicians on the 'Arts for All Scheme'. While the Covid pandemic continues, I am playing piano and tuned percussion on hospital wards, but look forward to adding oboe and Irish whistles to the mix when restrictions allow.
August 2018
I have been performing regularly on ships in the P&O fleet this year, including Arcadia, Oceana and Oriana, and visiting an array of countries including France, Spain, Italy, Malta, Croatia, Albania, the U.S., New Zealand, Iceland & Greenland.
Music in Hospitals have recently rolled out their project ICUHear in intensive care units in London and the South. I have given solo peformances on oboe, Irish whistles and percussion in St. Mary's Paddington, Charing Cross Hospital, Hammersmith Hospital and Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth. These performances are designed to give patients, relatives and staff respite from the trauma of being in an Intensive Care Unit, and have led to some very moving encounters as individuals respond to the music in different ways.

Bombay Chamber Orchestra
I was invited to join players of Bombay Chamber orchestra for a concert in December. Rehearsing in high temperatures and humidity was a challenge, but it was a great experience. I also led a workshop for the children at Mukhtangan school (see picture), introducing them to some of the instruments of the orchestra and teaching them a folk song.

Sinfonia Musicisti DVD recording
July was a month of recordings of music for children. I took part in the sound recording of a new DVD of works for narrator and orchestra, including Prokofiev's classic work Peter and the Wolf, as well as three other new works by living composers. The DVD will contain the narration alongside pictorial representations of the works created by the narrator.
Rita og Krokodille
I recorded oboe and cor anglais tracks by the TV and film composer Tanera Dawkins for a delightful animated children's TV series 'Rita og Krokodille', which will be broadcast in Scandinavia:

I regularly give performances for Music in Hospitals, and find them extremely rewarding, and at times, very moving as audience members participate or respond to the music. Please see Music in Hospitals' video below:

'The World of the Oboe' CD
I was thrilled to have been included on this CD, especially considering some of the illustrious performers who have been chosen to represent the sound of the oboe. The CD is produced by oboe classics and showcases 33 works for oboe performed by 20 different British and international oboists. I'm featured playing 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow', the classic song from the musical The Wizard of Oz. The CD is available from www.oboeclassics.com.
'Ian Storey Sings'
This CD, on which I played oboe & cor anglais with Sinfonia Musicisti and tenor Ian Storey, is now available for download on iTunes and CD Baby, with the physical CDs being released soon.
